The Sync Mode can be found at the top of the Synchronization pane. Available synchronization modes are Free Run, Custom or 3D Glass.
Free Run uses default sync settings. If an OptiHub or OptiHub 2 is present in a USB system, this setting will act as the sync master and the default settings will be applied. If an eSync is present in an ethernet system, it will act as the sync master and the default settings are used.
Custom allows sync settings to be explicitly set.
3D Glass allows the sync to be control by other devices.
Pressing the Apply button configures the OptiHub, OptiHub 2 or eSync to use the settings that are currently defined in the synchronization pane.
Change the Sync Mode to Custom Synchronization to view the sync settings for the OptiHub or OptiHub 2.
Internal Sync Freq (Hz): Controls the frequency in Hertz (Hz) of the OptiHub's internal sync generator. This option is only valid if Sync Input: Source is selected to be internal sync. Valid range is 8 to 100.
Global Sync Offset (us): Controls the delay in microseconds (us) between the chosen sync source and when the cameras are actually told to expose. This is a global system delay that is independent of, and in addition to, an individual camera's exposure delay setting. Valid range is 0 to 65862us. The Source setting needs to be set to Sync In or USB Sync.
Source: Selects a source for the sync trigger.
Internal Sync sets the OptiHub or OptiHub 2 as the sync source.
Sync In sets an external device as the sync source.
USB Sync sets an external USB device as the sync source.
USB Sync-In Control: Only available if Source is set to USB. Allows the user to allow or block trigger events generated by the internal sync control. This option has been deprecated for use in the GUI. Valid options are: Gate-Open and Gate-Closed.
External Input Trigger: Only available if source is set to External Sync. Selects the type of input source.
Input Divider: Only available if Source is set to External Sync. Allows a triggering rate compatible with the camera frame rate to be derived from higher frequency input signals (e.g. 300Hz decimated down to 100Hz for use with a V100:R2 camera). Valid range is 1 (no decimation) to 15 (every 15th trigger signal generates a frame).
Input Trigger: Sets the trigger mode.
Either Edge uses either the rising or falling edge of the pulse signal.
Rising Edge uses the rising edge of the pulse signal.
Falling Edge uses the falling edge of the pulse signal.
USB Sync-In Control: Enable or disable the USB sync in.
Pulse Type: Selects the condition and timing for the pulse to be sent out over the External Sync Out jack.
Polarity: Selects output polarity of External Sync Out signal. Valid options are: Active High, Active Low.
Take Snapshot: Only available if Source is set to USB. Used to generate a one-time trigger event which will cause the cameras to expose and transfer a single frame.
Change the Sync Mode to Custom Synchronization to view the sync settings for the eSync.
Source: Defines the source of the synchronization signal.
Internal Sync sets the eSync to deliver the sync signal to the ethernet cameras.
SMPTE Time Code In sets an external device as the sync signal. The external device must be delivering a timecode sync signal.
Video Gen Lock locks the camera sync to an external video sync signal.
Lo-Z is used for low impedance output devices. Max signal voltage cannot exceed 5 Volts.
Hi-Z is used for high impedance output devices. Max signal voltage cannot exceed 5 Volts.
Isolated is used for generic sync devices. Considered safer than Lo-Z or Hi-Z. Max signal voltage cannot exceed 13 Volts.

Pulse Type: Defines the output signal type of the eSync. Use this to sync external devices to the eSync.
Recording Level outputs a constant high level signal while recording. Other times the signal is low.
Recording Pulse outputs a pulse signal when the cameras expose during a recording only.
Exposure Time outputs a pulse signal when the cameras expose.
Polarity: Change the polarity of the signal to normal or inverted. Normal signals are low and pulses high and inverted signals are high and pulse low.
Trigger Source: Defines the start trigger of the sync signal.
Software sets the Motive software as the trigger.
Lo-Z sets an external low impedance device as the trigger. Max signal voltage cannot exceed 5 Volts.
Hi-Z sets the external high impedance device as the trigger. Max signal voltage cannot exceed 5 Volts.
SMTPE Time Code In: Displays the clock of the timecode sync.
Video Genlock In: Displays the clock of the timecode sync.
Lo-Z: Displays the clock of the external low impedance sync device.
Hi-Z: Displays the clock of the external low impedance sync device.
Isolated: Display the clock of the external generic sync device.
